What to expect.

A quick orientation so you show up ready for the marsh.

What to Bring

A Louisiana saltwater fishing license (required for all anglers 16+), polarized sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, and a soft cooler if you want to take fish home. Closed-toe non-marking shoes preferred.

What's Included

All rods, reels, leaders, hooks, live bait, ice for the cooler, and the captain’s knowledge of the marsh. Fish cleaning available on request.

Where We Meet

Departure point in the Slidell, LA area — exact launch confirmed when you book. Roughly 35 minutes from downtown New Orleans, just across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes — every angler 16 and older needs a valid Louisiana saltwater fishing license. They’re available online at the LDWF website and take just a few minutes to purchase.

How many people can come on the boat?

Trips are based on 2 anglers, with up to 4 people total on the boat. Each angler beyond the base 2 is an additional $100.

What does the trip cost?

Half-day (4 hours) is $400 for 2 anglers. Full-day (6 hours) is $600 for 2 anglers. Each additional angler is $100, up to 4 total. Custom trips are quoted on request.

What’s included in the price?

All bait, tackle, rods, reels, leaders, hooks, and ice. You bring your fishing license, snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and a hat.

What if the weather’s bad?

Captain’s call. If conditions aren’t safe, we’ll reschedule to another date — no fee. Specific cancellation and deposit terms are confirmed at booking.

Can you keep and clean our catch?

Yes — within Louisiana legal limits and seasons. Fish cleaning is available on request. We’ll bag and ice your catch for the ride home.

Are kids welcome?

Absolutely — Slap Yo Hook is family-friendly. Kids must be comfortable on the water, and life jackets are provided for anyone who wants one.
